Stanhope Whiskey rolls out two new drams

Born in Scotland, crafted in the USA

Stanhope Whiskey is set to launch in Scotland this October, introducing more American bourbons to the market and honouring a family legacy.

PREMIUM spirits company Artisan Spirits has launched two new American whiskeys into the market, helping to keep the family legacy of the brand alive.

Available to order from the Stanhope website from 21 October, the new Stanhope Kentucky Straight Bourbon and Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey come in 700ml bottles with RRPs of £55 and £58 respectively.

The Stanhope Kentucky Straight Bourbon is bottled at 44.8% ABV with a “rich flavour profile” that Artisan has described as having subtle notes of maple, honey and dried fruits.

Meanwhile, the Straight Rye Whiskey offers a slightly higher ABV of 45.2% with light peppery notes that has been slowly aged in American White Oak casks.

Rolling out with the tagline ‘Born in Scotland, Crafted in the USA’, the new drams help to keep the family legacy behind the brand alive and traces back a rich history all the way to 1879.

Each bottle features a design of the Stanhope Carriage to bring the history directly on to the bottle and links back to Peter Holmes who in 1879 returned to Glasgow from the States to set up Peter Holmes Carriage Builders.

Known for producing fine wagonettes and carriages, Holmes helped to set up the first reversible ‘Stanhope Wagonette’ in Scotland, and it’s this reputation and legacy for quality and innovation that the Stanhope Whiskey aims to replicate today, says Artisan Spirits.

Andy Holmes, Stanhope whiskey’s founder and managing director, said: “Stanhope is a story of heritage, passion and meticulous craftsmanship.

“Launching the brand is a particularly special moment for me, as it is a reflection of Peter Holmes’s enduring legacy, a fusion of old-world craftsmanship and contemporary innovation that has shaped our family for generations.

“We’re thrilled to have found the perfect partner in the Owensboro Distilling Co, the 10th distilled spirits plant in Kentucky, dating back to 1885, whose expertise and dedication mirrors our own.”
