Karisimbi range of rums stand on a table with the Karisimbi White Rum, Golden Rum and Spiced Rum variants.
Love Drinks has added another ethical feather to its cap with the addition of Karisimbi Rum to its range, with 10% of sales supporting endangered mountain gorillas.

SPIRITS distributor Love Drinks has added an ethical option to its growing portfolio with the new Karisimbi Rum range.

The three-strong range includes Karisimbi White Rum, Karisimbi Golden Rum and Karisimbi Spiced Rum. All three of the spirits sit at an ABV of 40% and are British-made using blends of rum from across the Caribbean including Jamaica, Barbados and the Dominican Republic.

All three come with an RSP of ÂŁ35.89 and are now available across the retail sector in 700ml bottles made from 100% recycled glass.

Aiming to make the most of National Rum Day – 16 August – Love Drinks reckons the new range from Gorilla Spirits Co will appeal to consumers across the UK through its strong sustainability credentials.

The brand keeps the wellness of gorillas at its heart with 10% of bottle profits from every bottle sold donated directly to the The Gorilla Organization which helps to protect and conserve the endangered mountain gorilla population.

The artisan range takes its name from Mount Karisimbi, which is on the border of Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo and is home to the endangered mountain gorillas.

Nick Masters, managing director of Gorilla Spirits, said: “We believe our Karisimbi brand has the potential to captivate the UK’s growing number of rum drinkers with its exceptional quality and unique flavour profiles, so we’re thrilled to be partnering with Love Drinks for the next step of the brand’s journey.”

Samantha Burke, managing director of Love Drinks, said: “We’ve long admired the Gorilla mantra, products and people so we’re delighted to be partnering with them to drive Karisimbi distribution, awareness and all-round growth.

“When it comes to taste and visual appeal, the brand oozes quality and with a growing number of UK consumers searching out unique, ethically crafted British spirits, especially rums, we believe the brand has an exciting future ahead of it.”
