Tropical twist for the summer months
RUM brand Old J Spiced Rum has launched a new Coconut flavoured rum in time for the summer, building on its range of rum variants.
Joining the brand’s line-up of seven Caribbean spiced rum, Old J Coconut comes off the back of a recent social media poll where the brand asked its followers and fans to call out for the next new flavour in the range.
Coconut was the clear winner of the poll, rising to the top with 35% of the vote, followed up by a demand for a Mango flavour at 21%.
Infusing the brand’s special blend of 11 spices before adding in notes of freshly cut coconut, Old J Coconut sits at 35% ABV and comes in a 700ml bottle with an RRP of £21 per bottle.
Old J said the new Coconut flavour still retains the brand’s signature vanilla notes but drinkers can expect a smooth and creamy coconut rum that will pair well with a mixer or as part of a rum-based cocktail as well.
Nic Ponticakis, spirits category manager for Old J Spiced Rum’s parent company LWC Drinks, said: “As spiced and flavoured rum occasions continue to be key drivers for both the spirits and rum categories, we are delighted to announce this further extension to Old J’s fun and versatile range.
“Old J has an incredibly loyal following that are always calling out for new and innovative products. So, we put the ball in their court and asked them what they want to see next in the range.
“Coconut was a front runner from the start, possibly because we were heading towards summer at the time, but also perhaps because of the continued growing interest in cocktails and experimentation.
“Whether you’re looking to ‘spice’ up your piña colada, or simply elevate your rum and coke, Old J Coconut offers that easy choice at an attainable price point.”
