Chocolate brand Cadbury has introduced its Crunchie variant to the Duo format, tapping into strong consumer demand for the brand.

CHOCOLATE brand Cadbury has expanded on its Duo line-up with the addition of its new Crunchie Duo variant.

Bringing the classic chocolate and honeycomb bar to the Duo format, each pack features two bars of Cadbury Crunchie’s signature golden honeycomb centre that is coated in smooth Cadbury milk chocolate.

Each bar comes with an RRP of £1.35 and follows on from two recent additions to the Cadbury range with Cadbury Twirl Xtra and Cadbury Starbar Duo, which are now Cadbury’s No.1 and No.2 performing Duo bars according to Nielsen data.

The timing of the new variant comes as the Crunchie brand has seen a growth in overall value sales, says parent firm Mondelēz International. Nielsen data dated 11 July found that the brand has seen a 5.5% values sales uptick year-on-year, bringing this strong performance over to the Duo range.

Available in cases of 32 bars, Cadbury Crunchie Duo offers retailers a fresh way to help meet consumer demand with treats from a trusted brand, says Mondelēz.

Phoebe Morris, brand manager at Mondelēz International, said: “We’re seeing a clear shift in consumer behaviour, particularly among shoppers looking for convenient treats that suit busy, on-the-go lifestyles. Formats that combine familiarity, great taste and convenience play an increasingly important role in snacking occasions throughout the day.

“Cadbury Crunchie Duo gives retailers another exciting way to meet that demand, bringing the much-loved Crunchie brand into a format designed for modern snacking habits. The Cadbury Crunchie Duo launch is designed to drive incremental category growth by providing shoppers with a familiar and accessible treat to pick up on the go.”
