Looking to culinary trends in building up range
CONDIMENT brand Heinz has taken inspiration from the latest culinary trends on TikTok with the three new flavours in its Pasta Sauce range.
Available to buy from Waitrose, Morrison’s as well as online from Heinz To Home and Ocado, the new range includes Heinz Tomato, Sicillian Lemon and Ricotta; Tomato, Black Garlic and Roasted Garlic; and Tomato & Spicy ‘Nduja. Each 350g jar comes at £2.50.
Made using Italian-grown Heinz tomatoes, brand said the new ‘Nduja variant responds to the recent explosion of ‘Nduja inspired recupes across the UK as well as the growing number of consumers who have been making use of the spicy Italian sausage across the UK.
In fact, the ingredient has become so popular that Heinz has said online conversation about ‘Nduja with pasta has grown by 21% year-on-year across social channels.
In a similar manner, the Tomato, Black Garlic & Roasted Garlic comes as Heinz said garlic remains the number one ingredient used in viral pasta dishes on social media. The brand now reckons it will be able to provide its own culinary twist on this with the inclusion of black garlic.
Finally, the Tomato, Sicillian Lemon and Ricotta flavour comes as culinary trends watching website Tastewise found it to be the number one trending pasta dish in 2023.
The range expansion from Heinz follows on the arrival of the brand’s Pasta Sauce range in 2022 which launched with a Tomato Sauce for Bolognese, Sun-Ripened Cherry Tomato & Basil Pasta Sauce; Tomato & Chilli Pasta Sauce and Tomato, Grana Padano & Mascarpone Pasta Sauce – all of which are readily available across UK supermarkets.
Alessandra Sega, head of culinary tomato at Kraft Heinz in Europe, said: “Introducing new recipes is one of the ways we’re continuing to disrupt and drive excitement in the pasta sauce category – making superior quality ingredients and the latest food trends accessible to all pasta lovers in the UK.
“Inspired by viral trends on social media and restaurants, our new Heinz Pasta Sauces bring a culinary twist to the kitchen, and they taste ridiculously good! We can’t wait for people to try them!”
