Retailers urged to stock up on licensed sweets range
LEADING confectionery distributor World of Sweets has urged retailers to stock up on the new range of licensed Pez dispensers from Disney Princess and Despicable Me.
The firm stocks over 25 varieties of the confectionery brand and the latest additions to join them on shelves sees the Minions from Despicable Me 4 roll out to the line. There has also been a new addition to the Disney Princess range as well with the introduction of a Princess Tiana Pez dispenser from the Disney animated film The Princess and the Frog.
The new Despicable Me 4 dispensers come ahead of the release of the new film to cinemas on 12 July in the UK, with the launch presenting a significant opportunity for retailers, according to World of Sweets.
Each pack comes with one dispenser featuring one of four different Minions characters from the Despicable Me film franchise and one pack of Pez candy refill sweets with an RRP of £1.75.
Meanwhile the new addition to the Disney Princess line-up of Princess Tiana comes in a 1+2 format, meaning it contains one dispenser and two packs of the candy refills. The dispenser features the Disney Princes on top and comes with an RRP of £2.
This addition to the already popular Disney Princess line up comes ahead of the new Princess Tiana focussed Disney TV show which is set to launch in 2025 on Disney Plus, the filmmaker’s online streaming service.
To help encourage sales here, World of Sweets says it offers retailers merchandising solutions to help products to stand out further in stores including a new slimline free standing display stand which is designed specifically for Pez sweets.
The firm also offers small and larger circular stands with Pez branding, shelf fixtures and counter display stands to draw consumers’ attention.
Chris Smith, partner brand manager at World of Sweets, said: “We are really excited to launch the Pez Despicable Me 4 range, exclusively available through Bobby’s.
“The films have amassed a huge following and are much loved by both children and adults. By stocking the recognisable and attractive products in store, retailers can maximise sales.
“Being up to date on trends, launches and cultural events helps to encourage repeat customers into stores.
“We expect the Despicable Me Pez range to be especially popular once people have watched the new film, after the 12 July release.
“Make sure you can cater to the demand and catch attention in stores by stocking up as soon as possible. Consider merchandising alongside other top selling Pez ranges such as Disney Princess, Marvel and Paw Patrol.”
