Soft drinks sets up as ‘Wingman to spicy food’
COCA-COLA Europacific Partners (CCEP) brand Sprite has unveiled the latest next step in its ‘Heat Happens’ campaign as its teams up with Kellanova‘s Pringles brand.
Aiming to highlight Sprite as the ‘Wingman to spicy food’, the new partnership will see a roll out of new POS materials highlighting how Sprite can be the ideal partner to spicier foods such as Pringles Hot! range of snacks.
CCEP said that the new promotion will help retailers to drive up sales from this link-up promotion for the two brands that will also see Sprite teaming up with other brands over the course of its run.
With Kantar research finding that one in every three meals in GB contain spice, CCEP reckons the timing on this team-up is ideal for the Sprite brand and positions the soft drink as a refreshing option to help consumers ‘stay cool’ during spicy food consumption occasions.
Convenience retailers can request Pringles Hot! and Sprite POS materials and download digital assets via My.CCEP.com to help bring the campaign to life in stores.
Kate Abbotson, convenience environment lead at CCEP GB, said: “Recent research has shown that activating occasion-led messaging at point of purchase where food and drink are merchandised together can double shopper engagement and increase sales by up to 32%, so we’d encourage convenience retailers to get activating in-store and appeal to shoppers who want spicy food and a refreshing soft drink.
