Love Drinks is set to bring an innovative new dark rum to the UK that has been aged whilst travelling at sea with Goslings Spirited Seas.

LOVE Drinks is set to give consumers the chance to ready their sea legs with its latest launch from Bermudan rum brand Goslings.

The new Goslings Spirited Seas rum is set to dock in the UK just in time for the key summer months, marking an innovative new launch to the off-trade.

The new rum has had the unique experience of aging whilst it is at sea, according to Love Drinks who said its voyage began with the dark, aged and premium-end rum being filled into vintage bourbon barrels before making the journey of travelling 59,920 miles at sea.

Love Drinks says the new Goslings Spirited Seas was aged for a year whilst travelling nearly 60,000 miles at sea.

After they were filled, the barrels were loaded onto a vessel where the rum was allowed to age at sea for another year, travelling back and forth between Bermuda and the mid-Atlantic.

As a result of this, Love Drinks claims the new rum has been benefitted by the stormy seas and air resulting in a unique rum serve that has also interacted with the charred American white oak barrels over its journey, all of which to enhance the flavour of the final product.

The result is an “elegant and complex rum’, says Love Drinks, with an oaky smell on the nose with hints of salted caramel, spice and rounding off with a silky-smooth finish.

Goslings Spirited Seas rum is available to the retail sector now via Love Drinks in 700ml bottles. Coming bottled at an ABV of 44%, the new rum has an RSP of £48.50.

Samantha Burke, managing director of Love Drinks, said: “Thanks to the spirited seas in 1806, Englishman James Goslings and his £10,000 worth of goods couldn’t make it to America and instead docked at the nearest port: St George’s, Bermuda.

“That’s when the Goslings rum story began so this latest launch pays homage to the family’s history, its innovators past and present, and to those spirited seas that surround Bermuda.

“A high-class, one-of-a-kind rum, which we expect to be a big hit.”
