Loch Lomond distilled London Dry Gin Ben Lomond has received a double gold medal for its Original Scottish Gin on the worldwide spirits stage.

LOCH Lomond distilled gin Ben Lomond has won a coveted Double Gold for its Original Scottish Gin at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC).

These accolades mark the first time the global triumph for the brand following its launch in 2019.

John Grieveson, chief marketing officer of Ben Lomond Gin owner Loch Lomond Group, said: “We are immensely proud to receive recognition for our dedication to crafting versatile, premium gin that reflects the beauty and heritage of our Scottish home.”

Distilled as a classic London Dry Gin, the Original Scottish Gin’s unique blend of botanicals include foraged rowan berries, Scottish blackcurrants as well as whole oranges and Szechuan pepper.

The resulting gin provides consumers with a combination of both fresh and dried botanicals to help create a balanced drinking experience of floral, citrus and spice, according to Loch Lomond Group.

This year, SFWSC judged 5,500 entrants across more than 30 categories which saw judges take part in blind tastings over a period of four days to determine if the product was deserving of a medal.

Gold medals are reserved for those “exceptional spirits that are near the pinnacle of achievement” with a Double Gold presented to entries that receive a Gold medal rating by all members of the judging panel.

The final results revealed that less than 1% of all awarded spirits were Double Gin London Dry gins.

Grieveson said: “It’s a significant milestone for everyone at Ben Lomond Gin as our first international win and has inspired us to continue nurturing Ben Lomond’s adventurous spirit which invites drinkers to venture through a world of flavours and experiment however, and wherever, they choose.”
