Entries open to find the UK’s most innovative products
THE annual Product of the Year (POY) nominations have opened up once again as the firm seeks to find the UK’s most innovative products that will launch between January 2023 to November 2024.
Awarding the iconic red Product of the Year logo to winning products, the Product of the Year team brings data gathered from a group of 8,000-10,000 consumers to find the best and most innovative products that have launched to market during the time period.
And for this year, PoY has once again widened the breadth of categories available for firms to enter into.
Marking a noticed shift towards DIY products in 2024 and more innovations beyond the shelves, the firm has opened up nominations for Apps, gardening, DIY and consumer finance products as well, identifying how shoppers are becoming more financially savvy to money saving methods due to the cost-of-living crisis.
Products to win in previous years have demonstrated “excellence across numerous criteria” according to POY but, most importantly, also have to adapt to unique demands from consumers and constantly shifting trends.
Commenting on the opening of the next awards, Helga Slater, managing director at POY, said: “In our 20th year, we’re bigger and better than ever. Over the last two decades, we’ve scoured the nation for the very best innovations.
“These are products that have a genuine impact on the lives of consumers – whether that’s simply bringing us joy, helping us be healthier/more sustainable or saving time in our daily tasks.
“With new categories and surprises in store, this year promises to be one of the biggest yet.”
