Spar Scotland Awards programme is revealed
DUNDEE wholesaler CJ Lang & Son has rolled out the red carpet with the launch of its 2024 Spar Scotland Awards programme.
Taking place during the Spar Scotland Trade Show on 26 September, the Spar Scotland Awards recognises those outstanding retailers across the Spar estate as well as those key suppliers that keep the stores well-stocked.
Colin McLean, chief executive of Spar Scotland, said: “We are thrilled to launch the 2024 Spar Scotland Awards programme to recognise the outstanding achievements and contributions within Spar in Scotland.”
The Spar Scotland Awards will honour those that demonstrate exceptional performance within the business with the following accolades:
• Independent Community Store of the Year – sponsored by JTI
• Company Owned Community Store of the Year – sponsored by Graham’s The Family Dairy
• Independent Store of the Year – sponsored by AG Barr
• Company Owned Store of the Year – sponsored by Hovis
• Supplier of the Year (multiple categories) – sponsored by Relex
• And new for this year the Future Stars Award in partnership with the Scottish Football Association
The new Future Stars Award will recognise an outstanding member, or members, of the CJ Lang & Son team based at the distribution centre and head office for their hard work from over the year.
Judging for the awards will take place over the summer months with winners selected by a panel of CJ Lang & Son area managers and executive team members, alongside category sponsors.
McLean said: “This year, in addition to recognising our independent retailers, company owned stores and suppliers, our new Future Stars award is aimed at recognising the fantastic talent we have across our business in Dundee.
