Ilchester Cheese has driven further access to its Marmite Cheddar Cheese product with the launch of the cheese to Iceland across the UK.

LOVE it or hate it, plenty have touted Marmite Cheddar as a ‘match made in heaven’ and now more consumers can enjoy this combo with its latest listing in Iceland stores.

Made with Ilchester Cheddar Cheese and Marmite, Marmite Cheddar Cheese 180g Wedge is now available to buy across Iceland stores in the UK for an RRP of £2.50.

Consumers have touted Marmite Cheddar Cheese as a ‘match made in heaven’.

Increasing the accessibility for the dividing cheese flavour could push more consumers to sample the cheese, whether as a novelty or curiosity for the taste combination.

Ffion Davies, senior brand manager for Ilchester, said: “Marmite Cheddar is the perfect combination of delicious British Cheddar, blended with a tasty hint of salty and savoury marmite.

“The cheese has been a hit with consumers since it launched with people saying, ‘it makes the best cheese on toast ever’, and that it is ‘so creamy and flavourful’.

“The listing in Iceland is very welcome and will give Iceland shoppers the chance to snap up this tasty cheese and enjoy it in a sandwich, melted on some toast or in a number of hearty dishes.

“It makes a great addition to a creamy pasta sauce or crumbled over a jacket potato. The list is endless.”

Jolanda Wells, licensing manager at Unilever – the firm behind the Marmite brand – said: “We know that the purchase intent from shoppers for products that pair marmite and cheese is 25% higher than for Marmite alone, and we’re confident that Iceland customers will enjoy the distinctive flavour of Marmite Cheddar.

“Coming at a time when we’re expanding our portfolio of Marmite-branded products across categories, we expect in-store brand visibility to reach new heights in 2024, and now Iceland shoppers will be able to add Marmite Cheddar Cheese to their weekly shop.”
