Mr Porky can deliver a protein fix

Tayto says brand can meet a variety of consumer needs

Retailers can scratch up some extra sales with key link-up offers across snacking, says Tayto.
Retailers can scratch up some extra sales with key link-up offers across the snacking section, says Tayto.

CONSUMERS have been looking to bring the bar back home with them during the cost-of-living crisis and Tayto Group reckons this goes beyond the standard pints.

The snacks giant believes that retailers can help boost their sales through this demand with a staple selection of bar snacks, including pork scratchings.

As such, Tayto has shouted out its Mr Porky range of pork snacks to encourage more consumers to bring home a true taste of the bar.

There is also an opportunity for cross-category sales as well, as Tayto noted these snacks are high in protein, making them a key option for those post-gym workout snacks and, as such, have become increasingly popular with more fitness fans looking for a convenient protein boost after their exercise.

Further to this, the Mr Porky brand boasts Great Taste winners in its range, including its Original Scratchings as well as its Crispy Strips, the latter of which can offer shoppers a lower-fat alternative and lighter-texture option to the standard pork scratchings, according to Tayto Group.

Matt Smith, marketing director at Tayto Group, said: “As a reaction to the cost-of-living crisis, people are staying home more – and bringing the pub taste home – to save money.

“With over 20% of pork snackers unwilling to switch to another snack, the 42% of stores who are not stocking pork snacks are collectively missing out on £7million a year.”
