Sweet success for Mackie’s of Scotland

Aberdeenshire ice cream in over 1000 UK stores

Mackie’s of Scotland has revealed an increase of the distribution of its ice cream range with a presence in over 1000 stores across the whole of the UK.

MACKIE’S of Scotland has hit a new milestone in its ice cream distribution across the grocery channel in the whole of the UK.

Asda, Morrisons and Tesco have all confirmed it will be increasing on its distribution of products from the Aberdeenshire firm, helping to provide the brand’s Honeycomb, Raspberry Ripple and Traditional variants to more consumers than ever.

The latest move has seen the ice cream brand in more than 1000 stores across the UK since the start of the new year.

The new deals, worth over a £1million to the brand, come following a strong year for Mackie’s as the firm’s turnover rose to reach £20.8million in the last financial year.

Part of this has been put down to the impressive success of the Mackie’s Honeycomb ice cream variant, which has been contributing to sales of the ice cream brand across the whole of the UK.

This includes a nationwide listing for the variant in Waitrose stores which saw the flavour stocked in 245 of the grocer’s outlets in 2023.

Stuart Common, managing director at Mackie’s of Scotland said:”It’s fantastic to see new consumers buying Mackie’s products, and particularly pleasing to then see them being rewarded with ever increasing flavour choice and availability.

“Not only are these listings hugely valuable from a business perspective but it’s important to us that ice cream lovers around the UK can fuel their cravings that bit easier – whether they are Mackie’s fanatics or completely new to our product.

“More distribution helps our brand and business grow by helping welcome Mackie’s consumers new and old to more of our delicious products.

“It’s great to know that the team’s hard work in making our high quality products is appreciated by our consumers across the country, and really exciting for us to be seeing such growth in the business as a result.”
