Mackie’s brings an appealing addition to its ice cream line up that is already popular with consumers.

MACKIE’S of Scotland has launched a new flavour in its wide range of ice cream.

The new Toffee Fudge variant comes after the family-run ice cream firm commissioned a consumer-focussed study to find which flavour would be their preferred choice.

After consulting on 26 different combinations, 40% of those surveyed across the UK said the toffee fudge flavours had the most appeal.

The new ice cream variant is available in Scottish Tesco stores now, with plans to roll out into Sainsbury’s from this month.

Kirstin McNutt, development director at Mackie’s, said: “When developing the product, we gathered numerous amounts of data on trends, supplier ideas and marketing gap analysis, and ended up with a host of different flavour ideas.

“We narrowed it down to five flavour concepts, and our research found toffee fudge to be by far the most popular.”
