THE year ahead has plenty of consumers concerned about their wallets.
As such, there will be plenty looking to cut out or replace certain luxuries that might be too expensive to carry on.
One such way might be to swap the bar for a night in on the couch with their favourite brews.
This will be crucial for retailers to act on, said Innis & Gunn, which has shouted out the importance of link-up sales to bring shoppers that night on the couch.
Crawford Sinclair, commercial director at The Innis & Gunn Brewing Co, said: “Having regular promotional activity in the off-trade is the key to helping consumers through the cost-of-living crisis.
“To improve and build on their offering is crucial in this current climate. Independents should look at offering a great choice of premium products with a link-save to deals, for example with beer and pizza.
“By positioning beer in the chilled section alongside food, retailers will capitalise on impulse purchases from those also looking for the ‘at-home’ experience.”
