GroceryAid gets a boost

THE GroceryAid Awards announced last month reveal a spike in supporter activity during the last year.

With over 60 more award winners than the previous year, including five extra Gold winners, GroceryAid has seen increasing colleague help across all areas of the industry.

There was a 20% rise in award winners compared to 2021, with 95 organisations securing a Gold Award, 65 getting Silver and 95 Bronze. A further 112 organisations were acknowledged as recognised supporters.

The award winners assist GroceryAid in three ways – raising awareness of how the charity can help colleagues, fundraising and volunteering.

GroceryAid chief exec Steve Barnes said “With cost-of-living worries set to increase, we expect colleagues to turn to us more than ever. It is so important to have the industry’s support and for us to celebrate and recognise the exceptional contribution of our trade.”
