THE Post Office has broken its record for the most cash withdrawals in a single month once again.
The Post Office said personal cash withdrawals totalled £805 million during August, which was 0.5 percentage points up on its previous record from July, which sat at £801 million.
In total for the month of August, the Post Office reported it handled £3.45 billion in both cash deposits and withdrawals.
Martin Kearsly, banking director at Post Office, noted the number of transactions displayed the importance that “millions of people are continuing to come to their local Post Office every week and rely on postmasters”.
