SPAR UK has signed a deal with Deliveroo to offer delivery from all its Spar stores in Britain.
All 2,160 Spar stores across Scotland, England and Wales are covered by the deal. The partnership gives Spar stores the opportunity to introduce a home-delivery service through Deliveroo.
Customers using the app will have access to around 2,000 food and drink products according to Spar.
Lee Johnson, strategy and operations director at Spar UK, said: “During the years of the pandemic, Spar stores around the UK extended their service to communities by providing a variety of e-commerce delivery and call & collect solutions to local consumers.
“We are looking to accelerate this trend and cater to even more customers in the vicinity of Spar stores by partnering with Deliveroo.”
As Scottish Grocer went to press, 66 Spar stores were available through Deliveroo and Spar’s southwest regional wholesaler, Appleby Westward, had already rolled out Deliveroo to 50 stores in England.
