EMPLOYEES at Johnnie Walker Princes Street visitors’ centre have marked the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, by donating trees to the Queen’s Green Canopy (QGC) project.
The nationwide community planting event arrived in Edinburgh in early March, as the capital was named as the initiative’s latest ‘Champion City’.
In partnership with Trees for Cities, City of Edinburgh Council and Edinburgh & Lothians Greenspace Trust, the QGC planted 1,270 trees at Stenhouse Greenspace.
Over 150 saplings were donated to the project by Johnnie Walker, one for each employee at the visitor centre.
Rob Maxwell, head of Johnnie Walker Princes Street, said: “Everyone here at Johnnie Walker Princes Street in the heart of Edinburgh is excited to be part of this initiative.”
