AN inquiry has been launched to consider the Good Food Nation (Scotland) Bill by a Holyrood committee.
The Rural Affairs, Islands and Natural Environment Committee has said it will ensure the Bill will set out the government’s goal to have “people from every walk of life take pride and pleasure in, and benefit from, the food they produce, buy, cook, serve and eat each day.”
To do so, the committee has launched a survey for views on the matter and reckons this will be the best way to understand what the country is looking for with its food and drink.
Finlay Carson MSP, committee convener, said: “Food plays an integral part in all our lives and can have a transformative impact on people’s health and wellbeing, as well as being a key part of our economy, so it’s important that we get this right.”
