University Graduates
The university graduates take on their new roles with excitement.

SCOTLAND Food & Drink has joined forces with wholesaler Brakes Scotland and Morrisons to secure graduate roles for new talent entering the industry.

University of Glasgow graduate Calum Brown has joined Brakes as commercial coordinator, while University of Strathclyde graduate April Pollock, will serve as local sourcing coordinator for Scotland at Morrisons

Brown said that through his new role, he hopes to gain “a deeper understanding of the inner workings of the industry, its suppliers and customers while contributing to the overall growth of the sector.”

Pollock said: “I have always felt drawn to a career in the food and drink sector, agriculture has been a big part of my life from a young age and now living on a working farm, I am passionate about sourcing local produce, so this role seemed like a perfect fit for me.”

James Withers, chief executive of Scotland Food & Drink, said: “Working in collaboration with a leading wholesaler and supermarket to create graduate roles focused on the promotion of Scottish produce is a fantastic achievement and demonstrates the faith in Scottish suppliers that Brakes and Morrisons have.”
