Spending big

Costcutter Berwick
Retailer Kash Nijjar investied a six-figure sum to create his Costcutter store.

JUST across the border in Berwick Upon Tweed, a new Costcutter store has opened following a £120,000 refurbishment.

The refit saw local retailer Kash Nijjar overhaul a former Spar store, increasing the store size by 30%. The new store format was developed through Costcutter’s Shopper First: Drive Five to Thrive business growth programme.

Commenting on the revamp, Nijjar said: “Recognising there was a real need to create a convenience offering that would allow customers to do their ‘full shop’ right on their doorstep, we worked closely with the Costcutter team and they guided us through every stage of the journey.”
