DIGITAL retail giant Amazon has opened a new till-less store concept in London.
The Amazon Fresh store allows shoppers to “just walk out” with their shopping. To use the store, customers must install an Amazon app on their smartphone which they then use to scan into and out of the store.
Customers are billed for the items they pick up automatically, although unlike scan-and-go services offered by other retailers, Amazon’s Fresh store concept does not require customers to scan individual items – the firm’s tech detects what products consumers leave the store with automatically.
