SCOTTISH butcher Simon Howie has launched a packet of haggis into space to celebrate Burns Night.
Taking off on a weather balloon from the brand’s headquarters in Dunning, the Original 454g Simon Howie Haggis was floated to low Eath orbit, 20 miles above sea level, travelling over Stirling, Falkirk, and Edinburgh before landing in the Borders.
Simon Howie said: “We are thrilled to have worked with Stratonauts to take Scotland’s national dish to new heights. Burns Night is one of the most important dates on the food calendar for us and we wanted to mark the occasion by sending the UK’s best-selling haggis, the Original 454g, to the edge of space.”
