A FIFE farmer is one step closer to creating Scotland’s first-ever buffalo mozzarella, following a successful crowdfunding campaign.
Steve Mitchell managed to reach his fundraising goal of £800,000 thanks to the support of cheese fans.
He can now build a manufacturing facility, milking parlour and slurry store, which will enable him to set up a business that is as environmentally sustainable as possible.
Steve said: “Producing buffalo mozzarella has been on my list of priorities and dreams for years and I am over the moon that it will now become a reality.
“I am also overwhelmed by the amount of support that we have received.”
