SCOTMID has appointed Kirsty George as local food sourcing manager.
George has joined Scotmid from Luss Smokehouse in Loch Lomond where she served as general manager.
As part of her new role, George will work with store managers in a bid to ensure their offer meets the needs of customers.
The new recruit has also been tasked with reviewing store supply chains so that new products can find quicker routes to market.
Commenting on her new role, George said: “I’m really excited to be playing a key role in improving our customer’s food journeys.
“There is already a real wealth of fantastic Scottish products available in our stores, from well-known brands like Tunnock’s and Edinburgh Gin, as well as local brewery brands and cheeses which might perhaps be available in just a few nearby stores.
“I feel really passionate about championing Scottish produce, delivering exciting NPD and being first to market with new ideas and concepts.”
