Hamlyns extends its range with new 500g pack format
SCOTTISH porridge brand Hamlyns has extended its range with the launch of a new pack format that could fit neatly into home baking.
The new 500g pack of Hamlyns Scottish Oatmeal has been launched in response to what Hamlyns views as increasing demand for products that tick the health boxes – even among those looking for a treat.
Alan Meikle, managing director at Hamlyns said: “Hamlyns Scottish Oatmeal is the brand leader in oatmeal in Scotland by a significant margin.
“Consumers are increasingly looking for healthier recipes to make at home, and more people are using oatmeal in healthy biscuits and oatcakes.
“The smaller size makes it perfect for the baking aisle.”
Meikle added that further extensions to the Hamlyns range, with an increased emphasis on the brand’s Scottish provenance, are planned for later this year.
He said: “Provenance is very important to us.
“Our porridge oats and oatmeals are 100% Scottish from seed to mill to finished product.
“We work closely with a network of Scottish farmers, many of whom have supplied us for several generations.
“It’s something that we’re very proud of and is something that’s becoming increasingly important to consumers.”
