Scotmid opens state of the art store
SCOTMID has continued its expansion across Scotland by opening a new eco-friendly purpose-built convenience store in Drumnadrochit.
The 4,500 square foot store, situated beside Loch Ness, has been built with energy efficient technologies to reduce its environmental impact.
Refrigeration at the store will be controlled by a central plant and run on a natural refrigerant rather than HFCs, which can be polluting.
Maurissa Fergusson, Scotmid’s head of property and development, said that the firm was “thrilled” with its new Drumnadrochit site.
“The launch of this store represents another milestone for us in providing convenience stores to match the demands of an ever-changing marketplace,” she said.
“The store design introduced here will completely modernise our customers’ shopping experience and we believe these changes represent the beginning of the future for Scotmid.”
