NATIONAL Lottery ticket sales increased by £175.9 million for the first six months of Camelot’s 2018/19 financial year, compared to the first half of 2017/18.
Camelot’s half-year sales results also show that retail sales grew by £98.5m in the first half of 2018/2019, which saw its retail partners earn £147.2m in commission, £7.4m more than in the first half of 2017/18.
Total National Lottery sales were also up by 5.4%, with £793.2m (excluding investment returns) raised for good causes — which equates to around £30m every week.
95% of all revenue was returned to winners and society, with more than 5,100 millionaires or multi-millionaires created since the National Lottery’s launch.
Camelot CEO Nigel Railton said the monies raised represented a “fantastic achievement.”
