THERE will be a changing of the guard at the top of Bestway Wholesale next month as managing director Martin Race (pictured) has announced plans to step down on 30 November.
Race, who has worked at Bestway and Batleys for over 30 years, started with the firm as manager of Batleys Cleveland in 1988.
Race will be succeeded by Dawood Pervez, who is currently working alongside Race ahead of the transition.
Race commented on his retirement: “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the last two years as MD and take great heart from the improving performance of the business. I would like to thank the Exec, the larger leadership team and all colleagues for their support and hard work, but now I feel it is time for a younger man to take the company forward.”
