A DUMFRIES gymnastics coach has been awarded £10,000 by Spar after being named the overall winner of the fascia’s People’s Podium Campaign, which rewards individuals supporting community sport.
Mike Briggs, coach at the Dumfries Y Gymnastics Club, impressed Spar after working his way up from volunteering at the club to leading the group as head coach.
Mike was awarded the £10,000 prize in a presentation at the Muller Anniversary Games at the London Stadium, where he and three of the other winners were treated like athletes and given a place on a physical ‘People’s Podium’ in the stadium.
