WITH the mercury rising a little early this year some retailers have already benefited from a seasonal lift, and with the hope of more hot weather on the horizon, slush machine supplier Snowshock reckons it’s got an ideal coffee solution for retailers.
Frappino, the iced coffee machine range available through Snowshock, offers retailers a coffee on-the-go solution that’s well suited to warmer weather.
The Frappino Iced Coffee machine is available in single and twin drinks dispenser formats, with each serving said to contain only 22 calories per 100ml. Frappino Iced Coffee products are also exempt from the sugar tax.
Forecourt retailer Mahmood Saleem of Ardeer Services in Stevenston had a Snowshock coffee machine installed at his store in spring and sales are already picking up according to the retailer, helped along by sunny conditions in May.
“It’s going well, especially on sunny days,” said Mahmood.
“We used to sell a lot of the pre-packed iced coffees so that’s why we put it in.
“Some of the regular customers have now moved on to the coffee machine.”
Mahmood added that the Snowshock Frappino offer is popular with young adult consumers, echoing the views of Snowshock managing director Peter Campbell.
Campbell said: “As well as targeting the traditional coffee market, iced coffee is seen as the follow on product to slush drinks for when children become young adults.
“This age group are not taking part in the hot coffee market nearly as much as they do the cold coffee market, a fact known only too well by the coffee chains, hence their strong marketing campaigns for iced coffee particularly in the summer months.
“Launched in 2018, Frappino has a strong following already, with top retailers quoting sales of 40 to 60 drinks per day and 40% POR, they are very happy with their investment too.”
