SCOTMID joined forces with the suicide prevention charity Samaritans in January to raise awareness and support for those battling loneliness and isolation during the winter months.
The activity saw special Grahams Bakery cakes go on sale, with 75p from each £1.99 pack of four going to the charity, the first in what will be a number of Scotmid fund raising activities for Samaritans, which is Scotmid’s charity of the year partner for 2018. The aim is to raise £300,000 in this time.
John Brodie, chief executive at Scotmid, said: “We are proud to be helping our charity of the year partner, Samaritans, to be there when it matters.”
