Sainsbury’s executive joins the GroceryAid Trustee Board as Treasurer
RETAIL charity GroceryAid has appointed David Wheeler, head of finance and logistics at Sainsburys, to its board of trustees. Wheeler takes on the role of treasurer for the charity and has been appointed as a trustee of GroceryAid and chair of the finance committee.
As treasurer of GroceryAid and chair of the finance committee, Wheeler will oversee the charity’s finances and report back to the trustee board throughout the year.
Commenting on his new role, David Wheeler said: “GroceryAid plays such an important part in the welfare of so many grocery colleagues and I am delighted to be joining the charity. I look forward to being able to contribute to sustaining the charity’s growth at a time of great challenge for the industry.”
GroceryAid Chief Executive, Steve Barnes, added “These are important roles for GroceryAid and we are lucky to have someone of David’s calibre on board. I very much look forward to working with David as we go through an exciting period of change at the charity.”
