Hint of coconut extends dairy free spread range

Vitalite’s latest spread has a hint of coconut.

DAIRY Free spread Vitalite is now available with an additional taste of the tropics thanks to the launch of a new coconut flavoured variant.

Rolling out nationwide over the coming months, Vitalite Coconut is being positioned by brand owner Dairy Crest as a “highly versatile” spread, with a “hint of coconut” taste.

The launch of Vitalite Coconut follows on the back of what Dairy Crest described as “significant growth” for the subcategory in recent years. The firm predicted dairy free sales will increase by a further 50% by 2021.

Neil Stewart, marketing manager for spreads at Dairy Crest said dairy free continues to represent “an exciting area of growth within spreads.”

“With the recent appetite for coconut-based products showing no signs of abating, we are confident that Vitalite Coconut will deliver a great tasting new flavour profile for shoppers already within the sector whilst helping attract new shoppers into dairy free spreads,” said Stewart.
