Growth in flavour predicted

HEALTH-conscious busy consumers will ensure flavoured milk sales will grow at double the rate of white milk according to Amanda Hamilton, founder of Drink Me Chai.

She said: “Chai Latte is growing by 30% year on year and is particularly popular among young consumers and office workers for whom the availability of their favourite beverage in ready to drink form is certain to be an attractive proposition.”

Describing Chai Latte as an exotic blend of tea, milk and spices, Hamilton added that with no other Chai product in the UK flavoured milk market, Drink Me Chai is keen to exploit the growing sector, which she says currently has a value of £42m.

To support its new packaging Drink Me Chai will be visiting universities and colleges nationwide with its Tuk Tuk Chai Bar and Chai Wallah for a sampling programme.

Hamilton said: “We are seeing a rapid growth in popularity in particular among those who prefer the gentle spices of Chai to the bitterness of coffee.”
