THE booming craft beer sector is the subject of the latest retailer advisory guide from Today’s Group, the wholesale grouping that includes several member wholesale companies in Scotland and the rest of the UK.
The group says its new Craft Beer Category Guide has been developed in conjunction with Today’s Plan for Profit and leading craft breweries.
Describing it as a strategy-based guide, the firm says it’s designed to equip retailers with the knowledge to be successful and confident in dealing with a new, exciting category.
The brochure, available at the Today’s Group website as a ‘page-turning’ online publication, covers what the group describes as “three key strategies” covering choice, visibility and profitability, it also explains recent growth in sales of craft beer, its increasing share of the overall beer market and the shares of craft beer sales taken by different styles of beer.
Also included is an overview of the various types of craft beer along with tasting notes for the Today’s Group core range. The site also links to a downloadable shopping list for the core range that retailers can use on wholesale visits.
Today’s Group also has other category guides as part of the Plan For Profit initiative, including a very detailed Wine Category Guide with extensive market information and merchandising advice.
The group’s first guide was its Soft Drinks Merchandising Guide, which is also available online.
