THE latest part of Scotland to hit the craft beer trail is the famous whisky town of Keith in Banffshire, where the Keith Brewery has been launched by a group of investors.
Formerly known as Brewmeister, Keith Brewery is backed by investors who aim to combine enthusiasm for beer and commercial experience.
The investors, Donald Smith, Scott Carnegie and Graeme Hay, from Discovery Investment Fund Ltd (DIFL), took over the running of the brewery earlier this year.
The venture brings a new team, new brand, new beer and, says the group, new thinking. It’s supported by Scottish Investment Bank and Highlands and Islands Enterprise.
Donald Smith, Keith Brewery’s non-executive director, said: “We’ve created a range of great tasting craft beers for people who care about the liquid – not the label, or any of the marketing fluff behind it.”
