DEMAND for healthier snacking products is likely to continue to grow over the next few years, and is a key area of focus for KP Snacks, says the firm’s trading controller, convenience Matt Collins.
“As well as our flagship healthier snacking brand, Velvet Crunch, we offer a number of other snacks with 100 calories or less per pack, including new Hula Hoops Puft, Pom-Bear, Skips and Space Raiders,” he said.
“We are working to reduce saturated fat and sodium, as well as removing artificial sweeteners, colourings and flavourings.”
• Britvic Soft Drinks has launched a sugar-free variant of Tango Orange.
Quoting Nielsen Scantrack figures Kevin McNair, GB marketing director for Britvic, said: “Carbonates remains the number one soft drink sector and is currently being driven by increasing consumer demand for lower-sugar options, reflected by the 6.2% value growth of sugar -free fruit carbonates in the last year”.
• Innocent has launched Innocent Light & Juicy, a new range of juice blends that combine fruit, water and a dash of coconut water to make a drink that the firm says is naturally 30% lower in sugar and doesn’t use concentrates or artificial sweeteners.
The new Innocent Light & Juicy range has three variants: orange & clementine; pineapple & lime; and peach & raspberry. RRP is £2.39 for each recyclable 900ml carafe.
