KNOWLEDGE is sometimes said to be power. And drinks distributor Maxxium seems to think so. Its newly launched Know Your Store guide for convenience store operators aims to help them merchandise spirits in their shops to gain thousands of pounds worth of sales.
The firm says any retailer who converts 10 shoppers into spirits shoppers each week could generate additional spending in their shop of £5,699 a year.
According to the guide, spirits shoppers spend more time and money than average in convenience stores, typically spending over £10 more than other shoppers. To help retailers make the most of the opportunity the guide addresses issues such as knowing your customers to revamping your merchandising activity.
Customer marketing controller Chris Richardson said: “Know Your Store has been designed with input from retailers to ensure that it is easy to use. It will help customers analyse their business and secure untapped spirits sales.”
