THE British public wants the next government to protect small business from mistreatment from big business, a poll has revealed.
Commissioned by the Forum of Private Business, the poll of 2,020 British adults revealed that 78% think big businesses are more likely to prioritise profits over ethical standards and 76% agree the next government should penalise big businesses that act unfairly towards small businesses.
And 81% of respondents agreed that small businesses need more help to get their voices heard in parliament.
Phil Orford, chief executive of the Forum of Private Business said: “We are facing a crisis of trust in big business and the UK wants the next government to respond accordingly, safeguarding the UK’s small business community.”
