NESTLE Confectionery’s 2015 promotional activity for its Rowntree’s Randoms brand has begun with a ‘bang’.
As part of a new campaign, lucky shoppers who find a ‘Bangers and Mash’ sweet in their packet of Rowntree’s Randoms or Rowntree’s Randoms Tandems will win a £500 instant cash prize. Each promotional pack will also contain a code inside, which people can enter online for a chance to win sweets from across the Rowntree’s range.
To mark the Bangers and Mash promotion, Rowntree’s Randoms Tandems is launching in an impulse bag for a limited time (RRP 51p).
The activity will feature on both impulse and sharing bags of Rowntree’s Randoms and Rowntree’s Random Tandems, with stock available now.
The promotion is supported by a £1m media campaign, including digital and outdoor advertising as well as 3,750 posters outside of CTNs.
A Nestlé spokesperson said: “The Bangers and Mash promotion is a great way for convenience retailers to drive incremental sales for the confectionery category.
“The quirky nature of the promotion is designed to appeal to the brand’s core target audience of 16-24 year-olds, and the media support package aims to drive this typically hard-to-reach audience into stores.
“Retailers looking to maximise sales should therefore display the promotion off-shelf so shoppers cannot miss it.”
