CERTAS Energy has boosted its retail team with the appointment of two experienced managers.
Ian Welch and Gary Conway, both former employees of Harvest Energy, have been brought on board as Certas aims to expand its Gulf branded network across Scotand.
“We are delighted to bring Gary and Ian into the Certas Energy family,” said retail director Ramsay MacDonald. “They share our team ethos and an enthusiasm for the business. It is important that our rapid growth is complimented by the recruitment of high-calibre people who understand Certas Energy and the delivery of genuine customer service.”
Certas Energy is the largest supplier to independent forecourts in the UK. Its flagship brand, Gulf, has been part of the Scottish fuel scene for many decades.
Reaffirming his company’s commitment to the Scottish independent forecourt retailer, MacDonald said: “We are now the only major fuel supplier with a base, management and significant infrastructure in Scotland. Our rapid expansion in the past few years reflects how many dealer groups and single-site operators now see us as the future on which to develop a sustainable and profitable business. Certas Energy is continuing to invest in Scotland whilst most other major suppliers have quite literally headed south.”
The company owns terminals in Aberdeen and Inverness and has supply positions there as well as out of Grangemouth and Clydebank. For the past two years, it has also run a network of 21 owned and operated forecourts in the central belt.
MacDonald added: “We are now in more and more conversations with BP, Esso and Shell dealers. Our message to them is simple: get to know us and see what we are about before entrusting us with your business.”
