RETAILERS and other businesses across Scotland are being urged to take advantage of a free training course that turns nominated employees into certified Green Champions.

Rising costs, new regulations and increasing customer demands are putting pressure on companies to improve their energy efficiency. Resource Efficient Scotland provides knowledge and tools to help.
The programme, from Zero Waste Scotland, is designed to assist members of staff who have a responsibility for the environmental performance of their organization.
“Our online Green Champions training course gives Scottish organisations free access to nine short modules,” said Marissa Lippiatt, head of Resource Efficient Scotland. “These give staff the skills they need to reduce their use of energy and resources and save money.”
The course has already trained more than 180 Green Champions,
including Caryl Hamilton from Border Biscuits.
She said: “The course is very intuitive and easy to use, with lots of great examples. The downloads are a fantastic resource.”
