Lucozade adds low option


ENERGY drinks brand Lucozade has added a new Reduced Sugar Cloudy Lemonade drink.

The new line is said to have the same taste and functionality as the Lucozade Energy core range, but contains half the sugar.
The launch is intended to meet what the firm sees as growing demand for reduced sugar products from consumers who are becoming more conscious of their sugar and calorie intake.
The firm says low-sugar products now represent £1.7bn worth of sales in the soft drinks market, with 5.8% growth year on year, according to Nielsen research.
Corrine Hopwood, Lucozade marketing director, said: “We have identified a brand new opportunity in the market for a reduced sugar proposition within the energy category.”
