TOBACCO firm Philip Morris, the company behind Marlboro and Chesterfield cigarettes, has appointed field marketing agency Cosine, to provide it with a dedicated field force for the first time in over 10 years.
Philip Morris brands’ distribution is currently handled in the UK by Imperial Tobacco. That relationship will end on 31 December 2015.
Martin Inkster, managing director covering the UK and the Republic of Ireland for Philip Morris told Scottish Grocer the new force will give the company the chance to develop customer relationships in the UK ahead of and through the implementation of the full display ban.
The new arrangement will also help the company later this year when it markets a new product, which is still under wraps but is not a factory-made cigarettes line.
