Bringing extra convenience to evening meals for shoppers

FROZEN seafood brand Young’s has expanded on its Gastro line-up with the introduction of its new Basa Fillets in a Garlic & Herb Sauce packs.
Delivering additional convenience for shoppers for midweek meals, the new Basa Fillets in a Garlic & Herb sauce packs offer consumers an easy-to-cook meal solution that has been designed to match restaurant-quality fish for the home.
Available now in Sainsbury’s stores, the launch comes as shopper appetite for seafood remains strong, but many lack the confidence to cook it regularly. According to a 3GEM survey of 244 25-44 year olds, around 78% of respondents said they would like to eat more fish, with 57% claiming they would do so if it were easier to prepare and cook.
Young’s reckons the new Basa Fillets pack will support this ambition with shoppers and encourage more consumers to make fish a regular part of their weeks and deliver more options than the standard fish and chips.
Young’s Gastro Basa in a Garlic & Herb sauce comes in a 400g pck with two fillets inside at an RRP of £5.50.
Kevin Sinfield, seafood marketing director at parent firm Sofina Foods Europe, said: “We know many shoppers want to eat more fish, but they’re often looking for easier ways to make it part of their weekly meal routine.
“Gastro Basa in Sauce combines quality seafood with rich, comforting flavours, offering a convenient meal option that doesn’t compromise on taste, and has been developed to remove some of the barriers associated with cooking seafood.
“With more people seeking high-quality meals at home, the range delivers an elevated dining experience without the time or effort required to cook from scratch.”
