SCOTTISH potato supplier Albert Bartlett has unveiled a new on-pack promotion with children’s brand Supertato offering a tranche of themed-prizes.

Running from 3 August to 4 October, the campaign will feature special Supertato branded packs of the Albert Bartlett Red Rooster and Butter Gold potatoes with the character seen directly across packs.

The new promotion is set to engage with younger shoppers and attract more families to the Albert Bartlett brand through this. In addition to the on-pack design, Albert Bartlett is offering youngsters the chance to win from hundreds of Supertato prizes for families to take home.

As part of the nine-week promotion, consumers will be able to find a QR code on-pack which will take them to the campaign’s dedicated webpage to be in with the chance of winning from a range of prizes.

There is a grand prize which includes the Supertato book collection, Supertato plush as well as a Supertato Tonie with Toniebox. Runner-ups have the chance to win five complete Supertato book collection prizes or one of 200 individual Supertato books.

The new collaboration between Albert Bartlett and Simon & Schuster Children’s Books, publisher of the Supertato series, reflects the Scottish producer’s ongoing commitment to connect with families across the UK and inspire younger shoppers to engage with fresh, healthy food options as part of the everyday.

And to support this, Albert Bartlett has confirmed it will run a communications campaign to ensure that it reaches multiple households across the UK and drive awareness for the brand with families.

Sue Hendra, co-creator of Supertato, said: “I love potatoes! They always have a superhero status in my house. I’m excited that our little spud will be popping up in homes across the UK in a whole new way. Many thanks to Albert Bartlett potatoes for giving Supertato this great opportunity, I’m sure they’ll fly off the shelves!”

Thomas McInally, senior brand manager at Albert Bartlett, said: “Partnering with Supertato and Simon & Schuster is a natural and fun way to create a promotion that brings together great food and great storytelling to engage families across the UK.”
