Cutting food-to-go waste with packaging solution

FOOD-TO-GO brands firm Kepak has expanded on its range of options with the roll out of its new East St Deli brand featuring a new range of sandwich options.
The new range promises to cut food-to-go wastage that is typically driven up with pre-packaged sandwiches that tend to offer only 1-2 days before they need to head to the bin.
Kepak said its new East St Deli range features a new MAP packaging which helps to maintain the freshness of the ingredients inside for longer while preserving a ‘just-made’ taste for shoppers without the need for artificial preservatives.
Through this packaging solution, Kepak has claimed the new range “delivers a market-leading shelf life” for the food-to-go range.
The new East St Deli range offers consumers a premium sandwich selection consisting of five fresh sandwiches in Chicken & Stuffing, Chicken & Bacon Mayo, Tuna Mayo, Egg Mayo and Cheese & Onion Mayo varieties. In addition to these sandwich variants, there are also two wrap options with Sweet Chilli Chicken and Chicken Caesar Wrap Flavours. The full range comes with an RRP of £2.89 per pack.
Monisha Singh, senior customer marketing manager at Kepak, said: “Retailers work hard to manage waste day-to-day, and we are committed to supporting them in this challenge. East St Deli proves that extending shelf life doesn’t mean sacrificing exceptional taste and quality.
“We’re giving retailers a range that gives them a greater chance at protecting their margins while keeping customers coming back for more.”
